POSITION OVERVIEW:

We’re looking for a Quality & Product Development Manager who can own quality control and quality assurance while enabling product development and brand growth. This role sits at the intersection of food safety, quality systems, and practical R&D execution, and is critical to helping the company move faster with confidence.

This is neither a quality enforcement role, nor a purely an innovation-focused R&D role. We’re looking for someone who can build and run systems, communicate risk clearly, manage multiple project timelines, and solve real-world product and process challenges alongside internal teams, co-manufacturers, and suppliers.

This is a full-time remote role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Quality, Food Safety & Regulatory

• Responsible for implementation and ongoing execution of Food Safety Plan and/or Quality Management System (can also include regulatory)
• Manage product specifications end-to-end, including creation, updates, version control, approvals, and traceability
• Oversee product testing and recall programs, review results, manage release decisions, and lead follow-up actions
• Monitor ongoing product quality and food safety performance, identify trends, investigate issues, and drive continuous improvement
• Partner with co-manufacturers, labs, and external QA/QC resources as needed

R&D & Product Development Support

• Lead R&D process by aligning business goals, market trends, customer feedback, and regulatory requirements
• Oversee ingredient and supplier sourcing when it impacts formulation, quality, or scale-up
• Ensure strong technical documentation and process coordination across development, commercialization, and ongoing manufacturing
• Run an effective and efficient remote R&D processes, working with co-manufacturers to develop new product formulations and customers to collect feedback
