POSITION OVERVIEW:

Fishwife is seeking a strategic, detail-oriented Director of Finance to own our financial planning, reporting, and strategy. As an integral member of our leadership team, you’ll provide clear visibility into our performance, support high-impact decisions with rigorous analysis, and ensure operational excellence across accounting, cash flow, forecasting, and compliance. As a key team member at an early-stage, high-growth startup, this person should thrive on thinking strategically while also rolling up their sleeves to execute.

This is a full-time remote role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Planning & Analysis

• Own and maintain company financial model, including topline, COGS, SG&A, and EBITDA forecasting across channels (DTC, Amazon, Wholesale)
• Lead quarterly and annual planning processes (AOP, reforecasts), in collaboration with Sales and Marketing
• Analyze COGS across product lines and channels to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve gross margin
• Partner with Operations and Sales to manage supplier costs, packaging decisions, and pricing strategies that drive margin growth
• Produce quarterly customer profitability reporting and 13–26 week cash flow forecasts

Accounting & Reporting

• Manage banking relationship and monitor line of credit (Inventory/AR)
• Oversee monthly close process with external bookkeepers/accountants, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with GAAP
• Oversee AR collections and bi-weekly deduction review
• Develop regular reporting packages and dashboards for leadership, including weekly/monthly sales reporting by SKU & customer
